Char (of which the brook trout is one) are sometimes difficult to create in watercolor because you can't paint light colors on top of dark as you do in oil or acrylic. You have to reserve the light. Because all char are characterized by light markings on darker backgrounds, this poses an interesting challenge for the medium. I like how this little Brookie turned out.
